Tossell’s Lodging House

The plaque, seen directly above the hood of the horse drawn wagon, announces TOSSELL`S LODGING HOUSE.
It was located at the junction of St. John`s Road, or Lower Road and Penhellis Hill
It catered for all kinds of travellers and was sometimes referred to by local residents as `THE BUG & FLEA`!
